One Year Ago... Baby Showers

As Abby's first birthday approaches, I want to post several looks back at what our life was like this time last year. In mid-October 2007, we were putting the finishing touches on Abby's nursery after two wonderful baby showers. We were so blessed by generous family and friends who made sure our home would be well-prepared for our first child.

Our first shower was given by several family members and was held at the church where we grew up. The shower was actually in the same room as our wedding reception had been. In addition to lots of family members, several kind people who taught me in Mission Friends, Discleship Training, youth group, etc. when I was growing up came as well.

Our second shower was given by our Sunday School class and my Aunt Diane. It was held at a restaurant near our home and attended by family on my mom's side and friends from church. The restaurant was all decorated for fall and the shower theme was pumpkins. We even had a little pumpkin family to take home for a fall decoration.
