Fall Fun

Abby attended her first high school football game. She was out way past her bedtime but it was worth it. Jonathan & I got to see our alma mater beat a rival school for the first time in the (not at all storied) history of the football program. Nana Linda teaches at the rival school, so it was truly a house divided with she & Pappy Darrell sitting on the visitor's side. We sat on the home side just across the aisle. Abby made dozens of trips back & forth. Her height was just perfect for cruising effortlessly underneath the hand railing on the walkway separating the two sections.

My nephew A.J. played football for the first time this fall. We went to one of his games to cheer him on, but apparently we were bad luck as this game turned out to be one of his only losses. What a handsome young man all dressed out in his blue uniform! He is growing up so quickly!

We got a visit from my great-aunt Charlene. It was her first time meeting Abby & her first visit to our house since it has belonged to us. It may have been bittersweet for her visiting her sister's (my Maw-Maw's) house with new occupants, but she didn't let on. I was so glad to see her and enjoyed her uncanny resemblance to my Maw-Maw, particularly in the ways she speaks and her sweet sense of humor.
